We’re working to untangle the role of AI & ML in water treatment and resource recovery. The initiative, supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, focuses on modernizing water treatment through digital tools, reducing energy consumption, and maximizing resource recovery. We are exploring how how to leverage existing sensors and data sources for process control, and how to automatically use machine learning to enhance water resource recovery facilities. This initiative is a partnership between some of the largest utilities in the US and research organizations, creating a toolbox of data-driven controls, shaping the future of water treatment for a sustainable energy future.
