Bridge Safety, At Scale
Integration of Sensors and Analytics for Comprehensive Scour Assessments
In collaboration with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), our project focuses on improving bridge safety assessment across the state of Michigan. By deploying an extensive network of water level sensors, we aim to comprehensively evaluate scour conditions and hydraulic factors affecting bridges. This partnership with MDOT seeks to enhance bridge safety and resilience, contributing to the well-being of communities and travelers and offering a model for bridge assessment and maintenance practices.
Fundamental Advances: hydrologic forecasting and alerting systems, automated synthesis of dynamical systems models, model discovery
Impacts: Together, we are working to advance transportation infrastructure safety in Michigan and beyond.
